After a career in architecture, it is now a pleasure to spend time in my studio painting and drawing.

My practice explores humanity's relationship to the natural world. I record perceptions and experiences from travels on country. There is no greater pleasure than being in landscape and experiencing one’s body as part of that landscape and then to use my creative skills to make artwork based on these experiences.

My aim is to share the appreciation of these places against the backdrop of an indifferent, distracted humanity through painting and drawing. Site sketches en-plein air and photography are used to develop the works in the studio.

David has appreciated the mentorship and tutelage for many years in painting from artists Kez Hughes and the late Mandy Martin (d.2021)
