The Arnhembrand project aimed to raise awareness of the work by Indigenous communities living in west Arnhem Land to preserve their unique culture and ecology.
It was an independent art, science and stories project that worked with the Karrkad Kanjdji Trust to promote the objectives of healthy country and healthy community in the Djelk Indigenous Protected Area (IPA)
It was led by acclaimed artist Mandy Martin and included ecologists, writers, photographers and artists. This group of Balanda worked with the Rangers of the Djelk IPA and Barwinanga Arts and Culture.
David participated as an artist and photographer.
The project culminated in a publication and exhibition at Macquarie Group Space gallery in July 2017 and at Australian Galleries in August 2017.
